Artificial Christmas Trees Or Natural Tree Debate
Artificial Christmas trees or a natural tree- either way people everywhere will enjoy the holiday season. Hopefully, the type of Christmas tree will not affect the amount fun and happiness is had.
There is a perpetual debate that continues every holiday season and it centers on a long time controversy. That seasonal debate asks what type of Christmas tree is better: natural ones or the artificial Christmas trees? Now, this debate is not a heated one or a controversial one. It does however, provoke several very strong and personal opinions for either side.
Some people state their need for an artificial tree as one of practicality, while others feel a natural tree gives so much more ambiance to the holiday setting.
Looking at Natural Christmas Trees
— very beautiful
— invigorating smell
— diversity from year to year
While there is nothing inherently wrong with natural Christmas trees - in fact, natural Christmas trees are most often quite beautiful. However, natural Christmas trees typically require a little bit more attention and work so to speak. That is, there are special considerations that have to be taken into account to properly deliver, care for, display and dispose of a natural Christmas tree.
* It should be noted that many communities offer a recycling program for natural Christmas trees after the holiday season.
Now, this is not a knock on these types of Christmas trees. If the person purchasing the tree wishes to take on the added responsibilities of a natural Christmas tree then so be it. Of course, anyone wishing to avoid those extra responsibilities, would be best served by buying a quality artificial Christmas tree instead.
Benefits of an Artificial Tree
— easy setup & hands-free care
— variety of appearance
— one time cost
There are a number of benefits associated with artificial Christmas trees that have made them incredibly popular in recent decades. First, these trees are easy to purchase and transport. Artificial Christmas trees come in packages that are designed for easy travel and delivery and this makes getting them home much easier than lugging a huge natural tree.
Additionally, the directions for putting these trees together are generally not complicated. This is very appealing to many people who do not want to trade one struggle with another struggle. That is, they do not want to struggle with setting up an artificial Christmas trees to avoid cutting, trimming and watering natural trees. Variety of appearance is also another huge plus as artificial trees are offered in many different shapes, sizes, colors and designs. This allows for maximum appeal among the consumer public.
Then, of course, there is the ultimate, supreme benefit that is associated with artificial Christmas trees. That benefit is cost. Artificial Christmas trees are generally a one time cost. Unlike natural Christmas trees, need not be disposed a few weeks after purchase. Artificial trees can be disassembled, put in boxes and stored away for the next season. Eliminating the need to purchase a new tree every year is without a doubt a very cost effective solution.
In the end, the debate of the holiday season boils down to preference. Some prefer to save the money and eliminate the hassle of caring for a natural tree. On the other hand, many do not mind the additional cost and work to get the beauty of a natural tree as opposed to an artificial Christmas tree.
